3/31/11

People Present: Brad, Grant, Holden, Andrew, Scott, Connor, Sean, Mr.Pontious, James.
Today we tested our speed collector in Autonomous and found it lines up with the Dispenser perfectly. We used a self aligning program.
We are still making our Auto to the point that it will be consistent and perfect.
Our test bot made but the younger scouts got its power switch and we started programming it.

People Present: Scott, Connor, Sean, Brad, James, Logan, Jared, Mr. Lanterman, Mr.Pontious, Matt, Holden, Grant.

Today we scheduled a prep plan before World. We put a omni wheel on the lower goal spinner for quick collecting.
The Young team mates are building an opponent robot to simulate another robot on the field.
The rest are thinking of how we can put our lower baton collector back. Then tightening, then testing.

3/15/11

People Present: Holden, Logan, James, Matt, Andrew, Sean, Grant Mr. Reidy, Mr. Pontius

Today James used Watson to figure out how to program the touch and lights sensors for the rotbot.
Sean, Matt, Andrew, Holden, Mr. Pontius, and Mr. Reidy worked on adding a touch sensor to the robot.
They also refined the bull nose.
Logan took notes for the blog for Connor who wasn't able to attend tonight.
Grant made sights for the baton collecter.
During Testing-
The new bull nose did a good job controlling the rolling goal.
The new addition to the arm did a good job of capturing the rolling goal.
With the new addition to the arm, the robot was able to unload batons from the dispenser while dispensing them into the rolling goal because the rolling goal was grabbed by the robot.

3/13/11

People present: Connor, Scott, Andrew, Mr.pontious, Mr.Lanterman, Jared, Holden

Today we took off the bull-nose supporting L-brackets.
Then we will test, but first we are tightening the drive train.
Today we received hats for winning the rockwell collins award. Thanks Rockwell Collins
We are also trying to fix a measurement problem in our test field.
During testing-
Did not go far enough
did not turn enough
Over rotated (2200)
We are trying to make our autonomous consistent at any field and consistent at a perfectly measured field.
We are also hitting the rolling goal too hard and making it roll away.

First we are brainstorming on innovating ideas.
We added an extension to the bridge dropper to allow it to push and pull the rolling goal easily.
We are also adding protection to the wiring at the top of the bot.

Today the team is organizing the robotics parts.
Andrew started adding another motor to the bridge dropper.

PA Final update

Congrats on our team winning the Rockwell Collins Innovate Award!
During the matches we fought well!
The first two matches we did good but we found our Autonomous was working inconstantly on the play fields. At home our autonomous worked very well and consistent, but at the fields we tested and played on it did not work fully. During tel-op, we lost our second game but won our first.
During the last rounds we ran our competition well, our autonomous was tested on the test field and we tried to fix it but it still was inconsistent.
When we got in the finals we where chosen in the 4th alliance with Tiki-Tiki, and Blitzer bots.
We lost our 3rd final rounds.
We worked hard and because of our work got the Rockwell Collins Innovate Award.
